Temple Mall
Sonic Happening / Public Intervention
11 September 2020
Fasanen-Eck Uhland-Passage in Berlin, Germany

Temple Mall is a site-specific group performance that uses the tiled design on the floor of an outdoor shopping center as a prompt for a sonic happening. Each participant is given a card which illustrates variations of the word, "shop." The group is also given a set of verbal instructions (see below) to read the card aloud while walking along the red tiles on the floor. When one participant comes into contact with another, they are to exchange cards and read aloud their new card. The result is a choir of the word, "Shop" spoken in its many variations.
