During the DIY Residency in Rügen, I practiced different performative exercises in reciting poetry. While on the island, I wrote the piece titled, "Mother the Sea" a poem addressing the sea with my concerns regarding the increasingly  estranged relationship I have with my mother.  The exercise involved balancing plastic bags of sea water on my head and forearms while speaking the text. The movement of the water dictated my postures and defined the rhythm of the spoken word. The result of this exercise manifested in a photo collage with the printed poem.
